Hi! I am reading an ARC of Don’t Let The Forest In by CG Drews and I think based on your content and ratings you might really like it. It comes out in October.

It's fantasy, not romantasy, but I would recommend Hills of Heather and Bone by K.E. Andrews as a read that subverts a lot of the typical m/f relationship tropes. The FMC is taller and stronger than the MMC, and is the grumpy one while the MMC is the sunshine. They've also been married for 10 years so it's nice to see a long-term relationship in fiction. Unfortunately it's only available on Amazon since it's self-published, but it is on KU and a fairly cheap ebook without KU.

my style is nothing near romantasy but i do enjoy long videos that talk about books but arent the "unhinged recap" types (that i still love) when i just want something in the background :) having said that i don't think i ever understood the dislike for godly age gaps, i feel like if they're treated sensibly (and the human is Not underage) then i don't see a problem, like having gods fall in love with mortals is quite interesting (what does this particular human have that captured the gods attention?) and is also a really common "trope" that goes back centuries in our history. Even more interesting when the god-like character knows their time together is limited, even Better if over thousands of years this aspect of their immortal life starts to wear them down, i don't think i've seen this route explored much (don't think it would be a romantasy but more like romantragedy) BUT i do agree that in these types of books it is overdone and used as a power imbalance tool more than anything else, that paired with actual powers and body size difference ends up being really yucky (at least for me). I would actually love big woman/tiny man pairings to be normalized, or at least have them be the same height or something 😭 would be funny as fuck to have this giant dragon demon to transform into a human twink idk

your comment on power imbalance is exactly how I feel about so many mainstream fantasy romances. it's not that difficult to make your female protagonist the millenia-old mythical creature, but I suppose it makes her "less relatable." definitely hasn't stopped me in my novel where the romantic subplot is between a mortal (adult) man and 1500+ year-old female pseudo-deity.

I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying!!! I felt this hard, girl. I was blessed to be able to create my dream room (library & Peloton room in one) combining my two fav things in the world. It's a whole entire feeling. Enjoy your new space, it's gorgeous! ❤

You mentioned Samantha Shannon... did you read The Bone Season?? She just released the revised versions and I am LOVING THEM. I feel like you would actually love TBS - it's YA (although "high YA", as in 19 yo FMC) and the worldbuilding is super complex, the tension between characters is awesome, their development is also pretty relevant AND the entire backdrop and arc is... insane.

The mediocre white men comment was unnecessary and overdone.

I adored every second of this! I’m a theatre student in New York, but I messed up my ankle pretty badly in ballet class and haven’t been able to dance or even walk since then. Currently watching this on bed rest while recovering from surgery! I am so excited to get moving again when this is all over. That joy on your face is just when you talk about dancing?? Boy, do I feel that. Here’s to getting back to movement and showing our bodies the love they deserve! Living vicariously through you right now 🤭 And the room looks gorgeous!

It looks awesome! I would recommend a little command strip under each gallery wall piece for extra security when you are dancing around the space.

Beautiful transformation! I’m not a dancer - or someone who is used to exercising at all, quite the opposite - so I’ve decided to redecorate our guest room to turn it into my crafts room/yoga room and eliminate any potential blockers that prevent me from working out i.e having to move furniture to make room, so this video was super helpful!
